When it comes to building characters, it can easily get a little overwhelming. There are so many character traits, history, tiny details to iron out. So how can we keep all of this information straight, and what kind of questions should we be considering when building a character? Building a CharacterPeople are complex, and therefore, so are characters. This means that the character building process has to be thorough. You have to consider your characters in their entirety; past, present, and future. This means the big things like: - Personality Traits - Physical Appearance - Family History - Function in the Story, etc. But, don't forget the the smaller characterizations too, like: - Motivating Factors - Fears/Obstacles - Personal Relationships - Spiritual/Religious Beliefs, etc. 40 Character Defining Questions to Help Your Drafting Process
